We celebrate in Vallclara our 40 years of history.
This year is being very special for everyone, also for us, this new normality that we have had to live has completely changed our summer camps. New activities, new organization, new schedules and new classes that we have had to reinvent to make different camps, but just as magical as the last 40 years.
When in the summer of 1980 our founder Margaret Wright began teaching English to 15 children from Tarragona in the Vallclara house, few imagined that after 40 years we would still continue to make the camps with the same philosophy, the same essence and passion with the one we started. More than 50,000 families have accompanied us on this magical journey until this summer, and we wanted to celebrate it with a small ceremony last Saturday at the house where it all started, in the small town of Vallclara.
In the same closing of the second shift of Vallclara and in a small symbolic act we recall the 40 years of history of English Summer. On this occasion, the three generations of the Fleix-Wright Family gathered at the house to celebrate together with the students, the principals, the monitors, the teachers and all the staff, this beautiful anniversary.
Celebration day and also goodbye day, because the director of the House, Pau Argilés said goodbye to everyone, this being his last turn. Pau has spent 30 years at English Summer S.A, he started as a student in Vallclara when he was very young, later he became MP to become a great monitor. Over the years he joined the management team being in Vallclara, Sant Carles, Prades and coordinator of activities during the school season in Poblet. Pau leaves a great legacy in the house that has seen him grow and as a gesture of recognition and gratitude, the Fleix Family presented him with a bouquet and a dedicated card at the same closing ceremony.
The dance of the turn with all the students ended the closing ceremony of the second shift of Vallclara and the 40th anniversary of English Summer S.A.
Summer is not over yet and we are still waiting, with all the enthusiasm, for many more boys and girls who are going to share the best days of summer in our camps.
